Take control of Cleru or Pratty, a Craftknight in training. Find a Summon Beast to assist with spells and attacks. Forge your weapons. Become a Craftlord.

This is a pretty solid action rpg. You make your own weapons and have to be careful not to break them. Materials have to be found in containers or taken from defeated enemies. Weapons come in 5 varieties, and each has different abilities. Not only that, but they actually feel different in play (i.e. An axe is NOTHING like a knuckle). You can get unique recipes from duels against enemies whose weapons you manage to destroy, adding a depth to combat (though this only applies to certain enemies...).

You also get assistance in the form of a Summon Beast. This is another party member, though they're limited to helping in battle with spells. They get damaging elemental magic, support spells, and a healing spell, but you can only equip a few at a time. Plan ahead!

Worth a try, if you've got the patience to learn how to fight with all the types of weapons.
